Canoe Sprint and Marathon Elite
Canoe Sprint and Marathon is the Swedish Canoe Association's largest sport. The national team operations are successful and have both historically and recently reaped great success at major championships. Since the beginning, the branch of para-canoeing has been included in the sprint national team's training and competition activities. Currently, we do not have an established para-canoeist at international level, but there are good hopes for the future. The marathon national team stands on its own with its own national team and has its own international competitions, although it is common for individual active members to be part of both the sprint and marathon national teams.
Elitcenter JKPG
In recent years, the association has established the Elitcenter JKPG – an investment in creating a world-class offensive development environment. The choice fell on Jönköping and today there is a built-up infrastructure in place. A dozen active members have moved to Jönköping and, in addition, large parts of the national team's national gatherings are conducted from the elite center. In the coming years, we want to develop the business further and develop Elitcenter JKPG further. A present and strong leadership and coaching organization that works closely with each other in a curious and developing way, and we see the active as a key to success.
Elitcenter JKPG is a central part of the association's investment in a crew strategy. Towards the 2028 and 2032 Olympics, there is a stated desire to develop crew paddling, which is absolutely crucial to reach the goal of a full team for the Olympics. It requires conscious and active work from national team management as well as active, an exciting journey to take Sweden back to the top also from a crew perspective. Now we are shaping the business, new approaches and activities that will get us there. There is an interesting and inspired squad with great potential to build on from the outside, we look forward to the challenge and the journey together.
