Together, we make paddling dreams come true
Paddling is more than an activity on the water. It is a gateway to outdoor recreation, wellbeing, learning, community and a lifelong connection with nature. The Swedish Canoe Federation works to make paddling accessible to more people and to create opportunities for individuals to discover the outdoors, build confidence on and around water, improve their health and wellbeing, and develop a deeper appreciation for the environments they explore.
The projects, initiatives and tools presented below showcase different parts of this work. Together, they illustrate how paddling can contribute to public health, inclusion, accessibility, water safety and sustainable outdoor recreation.

How we create opportunities

About the Swedish Canoe Federation
Founded in 1904, the Swedish Canoe Federation represents more than 120 canoe clubs, around 80 Approved Canoe Centres and approximately 25,000 members across Sweden.
We represent organised paddling, but we also advocate for the wider paddling community. Every year, an estimated 1.1 million people paddle in Sweden. Through our environmental work, safety initiatives, educational programmes and advocacy efforts, we work to ensure that paddling remains accessible, safe and sustainable for everyone.
We believe that paddling should be accessible throughout life – whether the goal is outdoor recreation, health and wellbeing, personal development, competition or elite performance. Through our clubs, centres, educational programmes, environmental initiatives and advocacy work, we strive to create safe, inclusive and sustainable opportunities for people to enjoy life on the water.
Our vision is simple – "Together, we make paddling dreams come true".
